Rhonda Spellman is an award winning children's book author, professional speaker, coach and Autism Advocate. She was first published at 17 and has worked in many areas of the writing/publishing field since then.
Rhonda self-published her first children's book, an EVVY award winner, in 2003. Her second book was picked up by a large publishing house in 2007; her third book is due out this fall, 2009.
Rhonda served as the Memberhip Chair and on the membership committee for Colorado Independent Publishers Association, the largest state-based author-publisher group in the U.S., from 2004-2009. She speaks often to groups about writing and her Autsim outreach.
When a form of Autism took her son's voice in 2001 and threatened to take his ability to live a normal life she began to seach for better answers. In seven years and over 7,000 logged hours of research, Rhonda found more than she was looking for. She created and discovered ways to reach, teach and inspire her son and then she began teaching other children.
Since 2004, she has taught over 5,000 children (most with special needs) to write a complete 16-page book. Her third book, The Journey, Home from Autism was written to teach others what she has learned and accomplished and help them on their journey: From Suspicion to Success!

Jim Strawn
is Director of Marketing and Community Education with Highland Hospital. A very familiar personality throughout the
state of West Virginia, Jim also uses his caring and unselfish nature to lead
and support no less than fifteen non-profit organizations.
Longtime friends, they joined forces in 2007 to
self-publish The Sad Mad Glad Book – The Anatomy of Your
Attitude. This book, which

Publisher, uses American folk wisdom and common body idioms to teach children
the importance of a positive attitude, the characteristics of strong
citizenship, and the life-long value of helping others. Parents, teachers, counselors, grandparents,

this book is a fun and interactive way to help children share feelings, build
self-esteem and develop a positive attitude.
Their sequel, Another Sad Mad Glad Book, was released in
September 2008. In April 2009 it was
named “Outstanding Book of the Year – Most Inspirational to Youth” by
Independent Publisher. Their third book,
The Sad Mad Glad Christian – The Anatomy of Your Faith is
currently in production and is planned for release in the September 2009.
